The largest ship that has ever passed (and will do so again) through the Corinth Canal

The place, the Corinth Canal (Greece), 6.4 kilometers long. And the fact that makes the photo extraordinary: on October 9, 2019, the Braemar managed to be the largest ship in the world to cross such a narrow conduit, 24 meters at its narrowest point.
Now we have learned that next April, the Braemar will return to the Corinth Canal to complete that feat once more. The cruise, which has already been put on sale, will depart from Southampton (United Kingdom) on April 20, 2022 and will return on May 15 after passing through ports in Spain, Italy, Malta, Greece and Portugal. Prices start from 5,795 euros per person.
“Our inaugural sailing on the Corinth Canal was simply breathtaking. Guests came up on deck to watch in awe as the Braemar traveled down the canal, with the sides so close that they could almost reach out and touch them, ”said Clare Ward, Fred's director of product and customer service. The Breamar is 22.5 meters wide and 195.82 meters long: it weighs 24,344 gross tons and at the time of setting the record that it now wants to repeat, it was carrying 924 passengers.
The Corinth Canal is an artificial waterway that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Aegean Sea via the Isthmus of Corinth, separating the Peloponnese from the rest of Greece. It measures 6.3 km long, was built between 1881 and 1893, and was inaugurated on November 9 of that year.
